Plantain Bread
Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (180°C) to ensure it’s hot enough when the bread is ready to bake.
- Prepare the Plantains: Peel and chop the ripe plantains into smaller pieces for easier blending.
- Blend the Ingredients: In a blender, combine the chopped plantains, eggs, milk, oil, salt, and baking powder. Blend until smooth and creamy to create a better texture for your bread.
- Prepare the Baking Pan: Grease your baking pan with butter and then line the bottom with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Pour and Tap: Pour the blended mixture into the prepared pan, gently tapping the pan on the counter to eliminate any air bubbles.
- Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 40 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center—it should come out clean.
- Cool Down: Once baked, allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 30 minutes, then carefully remove it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Letting the bread cool fully can enhance the texture. If you prefer a sweeter bread, consider adding a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup to the batter.
