Ingredients
- 2Â cups of wheat flour
- 3Â large eggs
- 3Â medium apples with peel (diced)
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 2 cups of sugar (or 1 1/2 for less sweet)
- 3 heaped tablespoons of butter ( 75 g )
- 1Â tablespoon of baking powder
- 1Â tablespoon of ground cinnamon
- Sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the apples into cubes and sprinkle them with lemon juice. Set aside.
- Beat the eggs with the sugar until the mixture is creamy.
- Add the melted butter and mix well.
- Incorporate the sifted flour with the cinnamon and baking powder, mixing gently.
- Grease a baking dish with butter, place the apples at the bottom and pour the batter on top.
- Bake at 180°C for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool before unmolding and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon if desired.
Notes
- Use Granny Smith apples for a tangy touch.
- You can add nuts or raisins for more texture.
- Avoid opening the oven during the first 30 minutes so that it doesn’t sink.
