The BEST Recipe for Pickled Peppers with Garlic

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of red or yellow peppers
  • 5 sliced ​​garlic cloves
  • 200 ml of water
  • 300 ml of white wine vinegar
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of coarse salt
  • Black peppercorns to taste
  • Extra virgin olive oil (for covering)

 


Instructions

  1. Wash the peppers, remove the seeds and cut them into thick strips or medium-sized pieces.
  2. In a large pot, mix the vinegar, water, sugar, salt, bay leaf, and black pepper. Bring to a boil.
  3. Add the peppers and garlic. Cook over medium heat for 5–7 minutes.
  4. Place the peppers and garlic in sterilized glass jars.
  5. Cover with the hot marinade and finish with a drizzle of olive oil to seal.
  6. Let cool to room temperature, cover and store in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours before consuming.

  • If you prefer a spicy touch, add sliced ​​red chili pepper.
