Ingredients

  • 1 lb 450 g ground beef (or mix beef + pork)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped (or 2 tsp dried)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • 2 –3 tbsp olive oil for frying

Optional for sauce:

  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Mix the Meatball Ingredients
  • In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and oregano.
  • Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly combined, but don’t overwork the meat.
  • Shape the Meatballs
  • Roll mixture into 1–1.5 inch balls using your hands.
  • Place them on a plate or tray, ready to cook.
  • Heat the Pan
  • Heat 2–3 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Make sure the pan is hot before adding the meatballs.
  • Pan-Fry the Meatballs
  • Add meatballs, leaving some space between them.
  • Cook 6–7 minutes, turning occasionally, until all sides are golden brown.
  • Reduce heat slightly if the outside browns too fast before the inside cooks.
  • Optional: Simmer in Sauce
  • For extra flavor, pour tomato sauce over the meatballs and add Italian seasoning.
  • Cover and simmer 5–7 minutes until fully cooked through.
  • Serve
  • Remove from pan and drain excess oil on paper towels if needed.
  • Serve hot with pasta, rice, or in a sandwich.
