Milanesa a la Napolitana (without pork)

A pork-free version of the classic Neapolitan-style breaded cutlet, perfect for those looking for a tasty and easy-to-prepare alternative.


Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup of wheat flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 meat fillets (beef or chicken)
  • 1 cup of tomato sauce
  • 200g of mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Frying oil

 


Instructions

  1. Flatten the fillets and season them with salt and pepper.
  2. Coat each fillet in flour, then egg, and finally breadcrumbs.
  3. Fry in hot oil until golden brown and drain off excess oil.
  4. Place on a tray, add sauce and cheese on top.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 8–10 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with side dishes such as rice or salad.

Notes

  • Use mozzarella mixed with cream cheese for extra creaminess.
  • Bake it in the oven if you prefer a lighter version.
  • Freeze the breaded cutlets before frying for quick future preparation.
