- For the meatball layer
- 1 lb 450 g frozen fully cooked meatballs
- 1 cup marinara or beef-style pasta sauce
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- For the mashed potato layer
- 3 cups prepared mashed potatoes homemade or store-bought
- ¼ cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter melted
- ½ tsp salt adjust to taste
- ½ tsp black pepper
- For the loaded topping
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese or cheddar-mozzarella blend
- 4 slices cooked bacon crumbled
- ½ cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp sliced green onions or chives
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Lightly grease a medium baking dish.

In a bowl, toss the meatballs with the sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.

Spread the sauced meatballs evenly in the bottom of the baking dish.

In another bowl, mix the mashed potatoes with the milk, melted butter, salt, and pepper until smooth and fluffy.

Spoon the mashed potatoes over the meatballs and gently spread into an even layer.

Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the potatoes.

Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly.
