Homemade Apple Fritter Bread

This Country Apple Fritter Bread is a soft, cinnamon-spiced loaf loaded with tender apple chunks and sweet swirls of brown sugar, then finished with a luscious vanilla glaze. It tastes just like a warm apple fritter in bread form—perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a cozy afternoon treat.

Ingredients

Apple Filling

  • 2 medium apples peeled and diced
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Bread Batter

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  •  cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Cinnamon Swirl

  •  cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Optional Glaze

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 –2 tbsp milk
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven
  • Set oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and lightly flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  • Prepare Apples
  • In a bowl, toss diced apples with sugar and cinnamon.
  • Set aside.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients
  • In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients
  • In another bowl, whisk oil, eggs, milk, and vanilla.
  • Combine Batter
  • Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients.
  • Stir gently until just combined (do not overmix).
  • Make Cinnamon Sugar Swirl
  • Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  • Layer the Bread
  • Pour half the batter into the loaf pan.
  • Add half the apples, then sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar.
  • Repeat layers with remaining batter, apples, and cinnamon sugar.
  • Lightly swirl with a knife for a marbled effect.
  • Bake
  • Bake 45–50 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • If browning too quickly, loosely cover with foil.
  • Cool & Glaze (Optional)
  • Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
  • Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over cooled bread.
