Instructions

  • Preheat & Prepare Pan
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan, or line with parchment paper.
  • Make the Cake Batter
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
  • Beat in eggs, one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with milk, until smooth.
  • Bake
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let cake cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.
  • Prepare the Creamy Frosting
  • In a chilled bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  • Optional: fold in cream cheese for extra richness.
  • Assemble the Cake
  • Slice the cake horizontally if you want layers.
  • Spread frosting evenly between layers and on top.
