One-Pan Cabbage, Sausage & Shrimp Skillet

This is one of those meals that looks humble but hits all the comfort notes. Savory sausage, sweet shrimp, and tender cabbage come together in one pan, making it filling without being heavy.

Servings

Makes 4 generous servings

Ingredients

12 oz smoked turkey sausage, sliced into coins

1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined

½ large head green cabbage, chopped

2 medium carrots, sliced

1 medium onion, sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Optional: red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add sausage slices and cook until browned on both sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.

In the same pan, add onion and carrots. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened.

Add garlic and cabbage. Season with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until cabbage is tender but not mushy, about 8–10 minutes.

Push vegetables to the side of the pan and add shrimp. Cook 2–3 minutes per side, just until pink and cooked through.

Return sausage to the skillet and toss everything together. Adjust seasoning if needed.

Serve hot.
