Christmas White Chocolate Holiday Bars

October 1, 2026•By Tech Us Daily•4 min read

These are my most popular bars, and I usually make at least 500 of them at Christmas! They’re incredibly simple to make, but they always disappear from the dessert table. The creamy white chocolate base is loaded with colorful little bits for a festive look, making these bars just as pretty as they are delicious.

If you’re looking for an easy Christmas treat that can be prepared in a big batch, this is definitely one to save. It takes very little effort, but the flavor is absolutely wonderful!

Christmas White Chocolate Bars Recipe

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Chill Time: 2–3 hours
Total Time: About 3 hours
Servings: 24–30 bars

Ingredients

  • 3 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup red and green candied cherries, finely chopped
  • ½ cup colorful Christmas sprinkles
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts, optional

Instructions

1. Prepare the Pan

Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some paper hanging over the sides. This will make it much easier to lift the finished bars from the pan.

Lightly grease the parchment paper with a little butter or nonstick cooking spray.

2. Melt the Ingredients

Place the white chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter in a large saucepan.

Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate and butter have melted and the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.

Do not use high heat. White chocolate can scorch easily, so gentle heating is important.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.

3. Add the Festive Ingredients

Allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes, then gently fold in the chopped candied cherries, Christmas sprinkles, and chopped nuts if you’re using them.

Stir just enough to distribute everything evenly throughout the mixture.

The colorful pieces will give the bars their beautiful festive appearance.

4. Spread Into the Pan

Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan.

Use a spatula to spread it evenly from corner to corner. Gently smooth the surface so the bars will have an even thickness when cut.

For an extra festive finish, sprinkle a few additional red and green sprinkles over the top.

5. Chill

Place the pan in the refrigerator for 2–3 hours, or until the mixture is completely firm.

For the cleanest cuts, you can let it chill overnight.

6. Cut Into Bars

Once completely set, lift the slab out of the pan using the parchment paper.

Place it on a cutting board and use a sharp knife to cut it into squares or rectangular bars.

For neat edges, wipe the knife with a warm, slightly damp cloth between cuts.

Tips for Making These Bars

Keep the heat low. White chocolate can become thick or grainy if overheated. Slow and gentle melting gives you a much smoother mixture.

Don’t add the sprinkles while the mixture is extremely hot. Allowing it to cool slightly helps prevent the colors from bleeding throughout the white chocolate.

Use parchment paper. It makes removing the entire slab from the pan incredibly easy.

Make them ahead. These bars are perfect for holiday baking because they can be prepared several days before Christmas.

Easy Variations

You can customize these bars depending on what you have available.

Try adding:

  • Chopped dried cranberries
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Chopped pecans
  • Chopped walnuts
  • Coconut
  • Crushed peppermint candies
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Red and green M&M-style candies

For a stronger Christmas flavor, add ½ teaspoon of peppermint extract along with the vanilla.

How to Store

Store the bars in an airtight container in a cool place or in the refrigerator. Place parchment paper between layers to prevent them from sticking together.

They can be made several days ahead, which makes them especially convenient when preparing large quantities for Christmas parties, cookie exchanges, bake sales, or gifts.

Final Thoughts

These Christmas White Chocolate Holiday Bars are proof that a recipe doesn’t have to be complicated to be a favorite. They’re creamy, sweet, colorful, and incredibly easy to prepare in large batches.

And if you’re really making 500 of these for Christmas, you’ll definitely want to work in batches and keep the finished bars chilled until you’re ready to serve them!
