Best Beet Juice Recipe for Heart & Anti-Inflammatory Support

Beet juice is naturally rich in dietary nitrates, which the body can convert into nitric oxide. This may help support healthy blood-vessel function and blood pressure. Beets also provide betalain pigments with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium beets, washed and peeled
  • 1 green apple
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger
  • ½ lemon, peeled
  • 1 cucumber
  • ½–1 cup water, as needed

Instructions

  1. Wash and prepare all ingredients.
  2. Chop the beets, apple, cucumber, and ginger into small pieces.
  3. Juice everything together.
  4. Add water if you prefer a lighter drink.
  5. Stir in the fresh lemon juice.
  6. Drink immediately for the best flavor.

How to Use It

A practical serving is about ½–1 cup (120–240 mL). If you’re new to beet juice, start with a smaller amount because large servings may cause digestive discomfort.

Tip: Beet juice can temporarily turn urine or stool pink/red. This is called beeturia and is generally harmless.

Important Note

Beet juice is not a treatment or replacement for blood-pressure medication. If you have low blood pressure or take blood-pressure medicine, discuss regular beet juice consumption with your healthcare professional, since its blood-pressure-lowering effect could potentially add to your medication.

For inflammation, think of beet juice as one nutritious component of an overall diet rich in vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, nuts, and healthy fats—not as a quick cure.
