Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 170°C (340°F). Grease a 20 cm (8-inch) round baking pan and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar together until the mixture is creamy and light in color.
- Add the vegetable oil and yogurt to the egg mixture. Gently mix to combine.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and level it out with a spatula.
- Arrange the sliced apples over the top of the batter. Drizzle the lemon juice evenly over the apples, sprinkle with brown sugar, and dot with the small pieces of butter.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust with icing sugar before serving if desired.
Notes
