Pound Cake French Toast
Ingredients
- 6 slices pound cake
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp butter
Optional toppings
- Maple syrup
- Powdered sugar
- Fresh berries
- Whipped cream
- Caramel sauce
Instructions
Make the custard
In a bowl whisk together: eggs , milk
, vanilla
, and cinnamon
Dip the pound cake
Quickly dip each slice into the custard mixture.
Don’t soak too long or it may fall apart
Cook until golden
Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat
Cook pound cake slices 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and slightly crispy
Serve
Top with:
Maple syrup
Powdered sugar
Fresh berries
Whipped cream
