Berries
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, washed and dried Choose firm strawberries, free from blemishes.
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries, washed and dried Choose firm blueberries for best results.
  • 2 cups fresh raspberries, washed and dried Select firm raspberries for storage.
Washing Solution
  • 1 part white vinegar Mix with water to create a washing solution.
  • 3 parts water Use this ratio for the vinegar wash.
Storage Equipment
  • 1 large glass jar or several smaller jars with lids Ensure jars are completely dry before use.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix 1 part white vinegar with 3 parts water to create the washing solution.
  2. Add the washed berries carefully to the bowl and let them soak for about 5-10 minutes.
  3. Pour the berries into a colander and rinse well under cold running water.
  4. Spread the berries on a clean paper towel or kitchen towel and gently pat them dry.
  5. Place the dried berries into glass jars, leaving room for air circulation.
  6. Close the jars tightly and store them in the refrigerator.

Notes

Choose berries that are firm and free from blemishes for the best results. Small batches work best for tracking freshness.
