Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 250 g 250 g digestive biscuits or graham crackers Digestive biscuits provide a nice texture and flavor, but graham crackers can also work well.
  • 120 ml 120 ml milk You can substitute milk with a plant-based alternative for a vegan version.
  • 70 g 70 g granulated sugar If you want a less sweet version, consider reducing the sugar or using a sweetener of your choice.
  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 tablespoons 1.5 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 70 g 70 g unsalted butter Use vegan butter for a vegan option.
  • 85 g 85 g dark chocolate, chopped You can substitute with milk chocolate for a sweeter taste.
  • 20 g 20 g peanuts, roughly chopped Chopped roasted peanuts add a delicious crunch, but feel free to use other nuts like almonds or walnuts.
  • 20 ml 20 ml vegetable oil Any neutral oil like canola or melted coconut oil will work as a substitute.

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by crushing the biscuits into fine crumbs. You can do this by placing them in a zip-top bag and using a rolling pin or a food processor for a quicker method.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed biscuits, milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and cocoa powder. Mix until fully combined.
  3. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and chopped chocolate together. Stir constantly until smooth and combined.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the bowl with the biscuit mixture. Mix until everything is well incorporated.
  5. Add the chopped peanuts and vegetable oil into the mixture. Stir until evenly distributed.
  6. Transfer the mixture into your prepared baking dish. Press it down firmly and evenly using the back of a spoon to ensure it holds together.
Setting and Serving
  1. Place the baking dish in the freezer for about 2 hours, or until fully set. If you’d like a firmer texture, you can refrigerate it for an additional 2 hours after freezing.
  2. Once set, remove from the freezer and cut into squares or bars. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

These bars are best enjoyed cold and do not require reheating. Store leftover bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. They can also be kept in the freezer for up to a month.
