“Suck Belly” Smoothie

This natural, light and easy-to-prepare smoothie combines carrot, tomato and lemon to help reduce inflammation and improve digestion.


Ingredients

  • 1 peeled and chopped carrot
  • 1 ripe tomato, seeded and chopped
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 cup of water

Instructions

  1. Wash the carrot and tomato thoroughly. Peel and chop both ingredients.
  2. Squeeze the juice of one lemon and add it to the blender along with the carrot and tomato.
  3. Add 1/2 cup of water and blend until you get a smooth mixture.
  4. If you want it lighter, strain the mixture or add more water to taste.
  5. Serve it fresh, preferably on an empty stomach.

Notes

  • You can substitute the carrot with cucumber or add ginger to enhance the digestive effect.
  • For a naturally sweet touch, add a slice of pineapple or green apple.
  • This recipe doesn’t need to be sweetened, but you can use honey if you prefer.
