A simple, homemade recipe for fluffy pancakes, perfect for a family breakfast or weekend brunch. With basic ingredients and no mixer required, you’ll get tall, soft, and flavorful pancakes.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, beat the egg with the milk, melted butter, and vanilla if using.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix with a spatula without overmixing.
  4. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and grease it with a little butter.
  5. Pour approximately 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake.
  6. Cook until bubbles appear on the surface and the edges look firm. Turn over and cook until golden brown.
  7. Serve them hot with your preferred accompaniments.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter to maintain fluffiness.
  • Use ingredients at room temperature.
  • You can cover the pan to make taller pancakes.
  • If the pan gets too hot, remove it from the heat for a few seconds before continuing.
