Ingredients

  • 1 lb 450 g beef stew meat or cubed steak
  • 1 packet 1 oz / 28 g brown gravy mix
  • 2 cups 480 ml water
  • 1 cup 190 g uncooked white rice

Instructions

  • Add to slow cooker
  • Place the beef into the slow cooker. Sprinkle the gravy mix evenly over the meat.
  • Pour liquid
  • Add the water and gently stir to combine, making sure the meat is coated.
  • Cook low and slow
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the beef is tender.
  • Cook the rice separately
  • About 20 minutes before serving, cook the rice according to package instructions.
  • Serve
  • Spoon the tender beef and rich gravy over the cooked rice and serve warm.
