Servings:Â 6
Ingredients
- 1 pound pizza dough store-bought or homemade, thawed if frozen
- ½ cup pizza sauce plus extra for dipping
- 6 –8 slices deli ham
- 12 –16 slices salami or pepperoni
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup shredded provolone cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese optional topping
Instructions
-
Step 1 – Prepare the Oven
-
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Step 2 – Roll the Dough
-
Lightly flour your surface and roll the pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 10×14 inches and roughly ¼-inch thick.
-
Step 3 – Add the Fillings
-
Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving about a 1-inch border around the edges. Layer the ham and salami (or pepperoni) evenly over the sauce. Sprinkle mozzarella and provolone on top.
-
Step 4 – Roll It Up
-
Starting from the long side, roll the dough tightly into a log shape, like a jelly roll. Pinch the seam and ends closed to seal in the filling. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
-
Step 5 – Brush & Season
-
Brush the top with beaten egg. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, black pepper, and Parmesan cheese if using.
-
Step 6 – Score & Bake
-
Cut 3–4 small slits across the top to allow steam to escape. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
-
Step 7 – Rest & Slice
-
Let the stromboli rest for about 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
