- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs or chicken breasts
- ½ cup honey
- ⅓ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- For thickening optional:
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- Optional garnish
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons sliced green onions

Prepare the sauce

Add chicken to slow cooker

Place the chicken pieces in the bottom of the slow cooker in a single layer.

Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.

Optional: thicken the sauce

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and cold water. Stir this mixture into the slow cooker during the last 15–20 minutes of cooking and allow the sauce to thicken.
