Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (240g)
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 3/4 cup warm water (180ml)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons soft butter (30g)
Filling and Topping
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded (100g)
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted (45g)
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it’s frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt together. Add the yeast mixture and soft butter. Knead until the dough is smooth.
  3. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Divide the dough into small balls. Flatten each ball in your hand. Add a spoonful of mozzarella cheese in the center and pinch the dough to seal it.
  3. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, and parsley (if using). Brush the garlic butter over the rolls.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.

Notes

Keep leftover rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat them briefly in the oven for the best texture.
