  • ¾ cup 170g unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup 200g granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp sour cream

For the Butter Glaze

  • ¼ cup 60g unsalted butter
  • ½ cup 100g granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate large bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in vanilla extract and sour cream.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Chill the Dough (Optional but Helpful)
  • Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to make shaping easier and prevent spreading.
  • Bake
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Scoop 2-tablespoon portions of dough and roll into balls.
